Barefoot Break: A Short-lived Getaway in Mykonos
Updated: Dec 19, 2023
Soaking up the Greek summer vibes! Picture diving into turquoise beaches, soaking in that legendary Greek hospitality, and savoring the irresistible aromas of Mediterranean feasts. I spent a cool six days in Mykonos, and guess what? Here's the lowdown for anyone heading there for the first time! 🌊🇬🇷
During my trip to Mykonos, I had the luxury of staying at Mykonos Earth Suites, a sustainable hotel known for its live music, an in-house restaurant, and eco-friendly practices. Mykonos Earth Luxury Suites is situated right on Megali Ammos beach which is the closest beach to Mykonos Town! Located just a 15 minute walk from Mykonos Town - it is often referred to as Mykonos town beach.
This spot nailed the Mykonos vibe for a short and sweet stay. The hotel, wrapped up in 2020, oozes genuine hospitality and crafts experiences that mesh perfectly with the island's stunning scenery. Constructed mainly from local stone, it's like they magically dropped a modern-day Flintstone haven into this natural paradise. And if you're into architecture, this place is a visual feast – they've curated it with serious style!
If this is your first time going to Mykonos and you are looking for a more secluded and quiet hotel away from the hussle and bussle, mykonos earth suites is the perfect place for serenity. It is far away enough from Mykonos town to wind down from the music and night life, but just close enough that you can actually see the whole town from the pool view.
A Day of Delight at Branco Beach Club
If you're looking for that picture perfect instagram worthy photo, keep scrolling.
A perfect day at Branco Beach Club, nestled in Psarou Beach, Patis Gialos.
Talk about picture perfect beach front location! We had the luxury of spending a day at Branco Beach club which was south of where we were staying from our hotel. It took us about 15-20 mins to get there with a taxi! Taxi's in greece are.. let's just say BOOKED and BUSY, especially during the peak season which is July and August.
I would highly suggest planning your taxi's out in advanced or hiring a car service if you are with a group of people. Uber is an option out there, but don't order it 5 mins before you want to go out. Plan at least 30 mins to an hour before ordering an uber or you will be stuck waiting and might miss your dinner reservation! Talking from experience.. haha.
Branco Beach has an electryifying energy about it! It had this rustic tulum inspired feel to it. Think unique cocktails, barefoot dancing, and soul stirring music! They have everything from designer day beds to the cutest never before seen fashion at their gift shops! I, of course had to indulge into the fashion and got some cute hand crafted pieces to wear out into the town.
All things food at Branco Beach club
The food at Branco's blew me away – honestly, every spot we hit up in Mykonos was a taste bud fiesta. Branco's is like this Greek feast with an Asian twist, and every bite is a flavor explosion. Picture feta and olives doing a little dance with soy and ginger – it's like a culinary party in your mouth. From zesty lemon in Greek salads to the deep umami vibes of miso-glazed goodness, these culinary worlds collide in the best way possible. Who knew Greek and Asian flavors could vibe so well together? My girls and I were absolutely digging the food and the vibes here. Check out these pics of us living our best foodie lives! 🍲🎉
More Beachfront Escapes in Mykonos
Embark on a Mykonian beachfront journey with my top favorite beach clubs
Alright, so you've got Scorpios, Alemagou, and Cavo Tagoo – the dream team of beach vibes in Mykonos! Scorpios is like this boho wonderland where music, art, and cool design collide to make you never want to leave. Alemagou, chilling on Ftelia Beach, is all about that rustic charm and laid-back Cycladic elegance. Then there's Cavo Tagoo, bringing the luxe vibes with a side of sophistication right to the shoreline.
These spots together? They're like the Avengers of beach clubs, each one bringing its own flair to Mykonos' coastal game. From Scorpios' lively beats to Alemagou's bohemian vibes and Cavo Tagoo's fancy feels, these beach clubs are the definition of kicking back and living the good life against the stunning Aegean Sea.
Tips for going to these beach clubs:
Early Arrival: All of these beach clubs are very popular, so arrive early to secure a prime spot, especially during peak hours. I would highly suggest making a reservation to gaurantee a spot.
Full-Day Experience: Consider spending the entire day at these beach clubs to enjoy both the relaxed daytime atmosphere and the lively evening festivities, and it will make it easier for you to get in for the night performance if you are there early and not with a group.
Groups: I would suggest making a reservation with a group of people in advanced if you plan to go later in the day. Mykonos can get a bit pricey, so having a group to dispurse expenses will make it all worth while!
Casual Chic Attire: These beach clubs have a bohemian atmosphere, so opt for casual, chic beachwear during the day and something a bit more stylish for the evening.
Day-to-Night Transition: Experience the transition from a serene beach day to a vibrant and electric evening scene at these beach clubs. In other words, be prepared for little to no sleep!
